Job Description:
As a Quality Assurance & Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that products and services meet the established standards of quality. Your main tasks will include conducting inspections on assembled and manufactured products, identifying defects, working with production personnel to ensure process standards and procedures are adhered to, recording and analyzing data, utilizing engineering drawings, implementing quality control and safety standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and improve quality assurance processes. This position will also perform inspection, maintenance, and repair as Field Service Technician when required to support warranty and end user plant operations. The Quality Assurance & Field Service Technician must grasp base knowledge and functions of the product and components, to be able to communicate effectively within the company, with customers and suppliers in order to interpret, solve problems, and work in a multi-task environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs inspections on supplied components reviewing drawing and dimensions while using calipers, micrometers and gauges.
- Monitors production and enforce written processes on the plant floor to ensure specifications are met. Ensures procedures are followed during testing, record data and verify documentation is concurring to product requirements.
- Produced Product registration (data) plates for production. Reviews and verifies open production reports against data plates produced to ensure products are shipped with correct plates.
- Sets up testing of pressure vessels for testing. Assemble and inspect components for specific configuration test.
- Prepares vessels for qualification testing (Failure testing) to include processes during the test such as Movement, staging, filling, post test movement, core sampling, and removal of debris.
- Performs function as a Field Service Technician. Conducting repairs to components, fiberglass, and paint. Travel as required to support the customers at their facility. Ability to learn and understand ASME Section X and National Board requirements for certification.
- Reviews data submitted by departments to generate Certificates and Quality documents for Protec Arisawa products.
- Organizes, files, and performs pre-inspection of documents to submit as a package for inspection and signature by Authorized Inspector.
- Performs production process audits to ensure accuracy and consistency of all production processes.
- Assists in monitoring EHS programs to staff to ensure compliance.
- Assists EHS in implementing new equipment and upkeep for facility compliance.
- Ability to functionally use MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, Teams) to generate reports and track program information.
- Performs other duties as assigned and as necessary.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists Engineering with project testing as needed.
Qualifications:
- A Minimum of 2 yrs. of work experience in Quality Assurance, Safety, HAZMAT.
- Certifications in quality assurance or related areas are a plus.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and industry regulations.
- Experience in quality assurance or quality control roles.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work with minimal to no supervision.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and cross-functional environment both internally and externally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Email, One Drive, Teams, SharePoint, Business Central.
- This position may require shifts that include weekend or second/third shift assignments as needed.
- The ability to travel, both domestically, on short notice is a possibility.
- Experience or ability to learn to operate a forklift.
- Experience or ability to learn to operate a scissor lift.
